About Us
The number one priority of Abbott & Lois is our students’ pride in their work. The theater lends itself to soaring confidence and a sense of belonging, and we design lessons to harness its full power.

Our Philosophy
We believe in teamwork, collaboration, and lifting the restrictions of what being “a star” in theater means. Our students gain an appreciation for the equal importance of those who appear on stage, create the lighting scheme, craft the costumes, choose the sound effects, and more. Through Classical Acting and technical design, they are exposed to decision-making skills in multiple avenues of artistic expression, which provides them with endless possibilities both creatively and academically.

What is Classical Acting?
A focal point of every Abbott & Lois offering are lessons in the fundamentals of the Classical Acting method. In contrast to experiential and observation-based acting methods, in which actors assess “truths” or emotionally recall moments from their lives, Classical Acting requires precise control over the voice and body to deliver a carefully crafted work of fine art.
Meet the Instructor
Erina Johnson
Founder & Primary Instructor
Abbott & Lois’ founder and primary instructor, Erina Johnson, set her sights at a young age on passing along the theater’s far-reaching critical thinking skills and study techniques. In order to do so, she combined seven years of professional coaching with advanced education in fine arts, elementary education, and business management.
Erina’s professional career began in 2018, with the founding of The Kirkwood Players, a non-profit community theater that serves adults and children alike. In 2020, she delivered her first of many successful children’s theater workshops before founding Abbott & Lois two years later to focus specifically on and provide more for children. Ms. Johnson’s passion for theater has proven to be extremely contagious, inspiring endless quirkiness and excitement!
